Accessibility at Briarstone Inn
Our website goals
We are designing this website with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as our target. These guidelines describe how to make web content usable for people with a wide range of disabilities, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification or voice control.
What we have in place
- A "Skip to main content" link and clear page landmarks and headings.
- Every page, menu, button, form and the photo viewer can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
- The photo viewer can be closed with the Escape key and returns you to where you were.
- Form fields have visible labels, required fields are marked, and errors are described in text.
- Text and buttons are chosen to meet contrast guidelines, and pages work when zoomed to 200%.
- Pages adapt to small screens, and larger tap targets are used for buttons and links.
- Animations are reduced if your device is set to reduce motion.
- Photos have text descriptions; purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
Known limitations
This is ongoing work. Some content or features may not yet fully meet our target, and the embedded map on the Location page is provided by Google and may not be fully accessible. We have not had the site independently audited or certified, and we do not claim full legal compliance.
Accessibility at the property
At Briarstone Inn, we want guests to have the information they need to make an informed decision about their stay. Building access and layout
Briarstone Inn is a three-floor property with no elevator. Guests should take this into consideration when planning their visit, particularly if they have difficulty using stairs or require step-free access to their room.
Accessible guest room
A Two Queen ADA Non-Smoking guest room is available at the property. The room has the same two queen bed layout as our standard Two Queen room, and its bathroom has a grab bar beside the toilet. If you require this room type, please contact us before making a reservation to discuss your needs, confirm availability for your travel dates, and clarify any specific accessibility requirements.
Accessibility features and individual needs
We are currently confirming additional details about the property's physical accessibility, including:
- Accessible routes: information about step-free access and routes between parking areas, the entrance, reception, and guest rooms.
- Parking: details about designated accessible parking spaces and their location.
- Guest room layout: information about room entrances, clear space for maneuvering, and access to furnishings.
- Bathroom facilities: details about shower or bathtub configuration, transfer space, and grab bars in rooms other than the ADA room. A grab bar beside the toilet in the ADA room's bathroom is confirmed.
- Common areas: information about access to reception and other guest facilities.
Until these details have been confirmed, we cannot guarantee that every area or facility is suitable for every accessibility requirement.
